Name: Ulic Aratech
Age: Twenty-two
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Looks: (Mm, I can't describe hair...) Ulic is not an overly tall male, being less than six feet in height and of a slight frame. He is not very strong at all, instead choosing to focus on speed and agility, which he believes are more valuable assets to have, considering his rather illegal trade. His hair can look different depending on the lighting, but mostly it appears to be dark gold in colour, with undertones of a coppery red. It falls just over his ears, with his bangs brushing softly over his eyes, which are a light brown in colour. His skin is not pale, but nor is he completely tan, having a slight tint to his skin from working in various climates, but nothing beyond that. He tends to carry himself with an aura of tranquility and calm, not because of choice, but because it's hard for him to physically show what he's feeling. His eyes, however, are very expressive, so people can usually guess what he's thinking.
Likes: He's not as used to being alone as he appears, having travelled with several select companions back in the Old Republic. When he came here, he was completely shocked by everything that had changed, and threw himself into rebuilding his reputation as a smuggler and Bounty Hunter. Sometimes he likes to look up records of himself in databases.
Dislikes: He absolutely loathes total and utter dependency. In a very hypocritical way, he also dislikes deception, which is amusing to him as it is something he knows he does constantly.
Bio:
Old Republic Era - Present
He and his sister, Ilsa, were both on Nar Shaddaa (commonly known as The Smuggler's Moon and Little Coruscant) to an Exchange crime lord and his slave. When he was seven and his sister five they were both found to be Force Sensitive by a Jedi named Roland Xing when Ilsa unknowingly used the Force to stop a petty thief from mauling a refugee. When Roland approached them, Ulic told him to back off and stay away from his family, "because wherever Jedi go, trouble follows." Creeping down the complex one night, Ulic overheard a conversation between his father and the Jedi. Incensed by Roland's comment about how his sister had more potential and had more power but "both children have the requirements necessary to become Jedi," Ulic refused to go, instead staying on the Smuggler's Moon and helping his father.
When the Mandalorian Wars began when Ulric was thirteen, and his father's business thrived as waves of refugees packed onto the Smuggler's Moon, but other than that they were unaffected, leaving the runnings of the war up to the Senate and the Republic.
When his father died, Ulic, at seventeen, around the same time the Mandalorians surrendered unconditionally to a Jedi Knight known only as Revan, left the small crime syndicate to his older cousin Cassus, and jumped ship aboard a Hispanice smuggler's vessel after taking a few credits. The owner, upon discovering him, was initially going to shoot him for stowing away, but relented when Ulic told him he'd pay him five-hundred credits (out of the five-thousand he had stolen from the smuggler's own vault).
Once the smuggler touched down at his destination in Taris, Ulic slipped out and blended in with the crowd in the Lower City, where he met Nalan Shak, a Rutian Twi'lek dancing girl. Agreeing to team up with him, Nalan and Ulic started responded to bounty's posted by Zax the Hutt in the Lower City Cantina.
When he was eighteen, the galaxy was plunged into terror as Revan and Malak, once the saviours of the people, returned with Revan holding the title of Dark Lord. The Republic and the Jedi were stretched thin, battling the Sith forces and trying to keep the once-hero from conquering all he saw. The Jedi Civil War had begun, but life went on as usual on Taris.
As Ulic taught Nalan to fight (and discovered her to be a rather proficient Pazaak player as well as a swoop-racer), their reputation started preceding them, until the local big-time crime lord Davik Kang recruited them to work for him, when Ulic was nineteen.
After a brief argument between Ulic and Davik when Ulic insisted Nalan was not a slave and would not be "providing entertainment for your guests," an agreement was reached and the two began freelancing.
However, like all Bounty Hunters do, they soon ended up killing the wrong person (though fifty-thousand credits was worth it in their opinion) and a price was placed on their own heads for their troubles.
This was how they met Siri Katarn, a Zeltron Bounty Hunter who had come to collect the rather substantial bounty on their heads.
After a brief skirmish, Ulic and Nalan disarmed the Zeltron, and she begged for them to spare her life. After another brief conversation that consisted of Ulic repeating the same offer and Nalan holding a blaster to the Zeltron's head, Siri agreed to join with them. Three months after that, Ulic told the two he was leaving Taris, to which his two female companions said, "how much can we pack?"
A week later they had taken a large shuttle off-planet. Ulic was twenty at the time.
While their destination had been Coruscant, the shuttle they were on was attacked by space pirates, leaving Siri injured in the skirmish. Telling Nalan and Ulic to flee in an escape pod, Siri drew a thermal detonator with a smirk and said, "We had some good times together," before activating it as the two fled to the last remaining escape pod.
A week later found the duo on Tatooine (where their escape pod had crashed) with their credit supplies dwindling. Determined to buy themselves a freighter, the two decided to seek work. Ulic quickly immersed himself by completing small bounties posted by the resident Hutt, while Nalan found work in a Cantina as a dancer and a competitive Pazaak player.
After four months they purchased a small freight similar to the Ebon Hawk, calling it the Ghostmaster in honour of its unique stealth system.
At the age of twenty-one, Ulic and Nalan decided to use their vessel to start smuggling goods and Hispanices across worlds, though they had a temporary residence on the planet Corellia.
About seven months into this game, they came across a Jedi freighter being shot at by more space pirates on their way to the bombarded world of Telos. As Nalan steered the Ghostmaster, Ulic manned the guns and severely crippled the pirates' vessel on a sheer element of surprise. Arming themselves in case the Jedi or pirates proved hostile, Ulic and Nalan boarded the ship where they found a small skirmish going on between the three Jedi on board and the remaining pirates. As one of the pirates was knocked down their hood fell off, and Ulic called for them to stop before he and Nalan were reunited joyously with Siri Katarn, who immediately surrendered to the Jedi as Ulic asked.
Subduing the rest of the pirates, the Jedi turned to Ulic, Nalan and Siri as introduced themselves as Kerrick Ultrat, Ashan Kae, and Ilsa Aratech.
Stunned by the woman his sister had grown into but unwilling to divulge his identity, Ulic gave his name as Elam Nurr, which Nalan and Siri were wise enough to go along to, though they revealed their real names to the Jedi, who thanked all three of them profusely. As the two smugglers and former space-pirate left, Ulic caught Ilsa peering at him with a puzzled expression, causing him to walk faster, something that Nalan confronted him about later on. When he revealed that the blonde Jedi girl had been his sister, Nalan asked why he didn't tell her it was him as Siri walked into the room. "She wouldn't recognize me anyway," was the response.
The three companions flew away from the wreck after grabbing supplies from the pirates' ship.
Five months before his twenty-second birthday, a strike team headed by a young Padawan Jedi named Bastila Shan, infiltrated the Dark Lord Revan's flagship, intending to capture the Sith Lord alive. However, Revan was killed when Malak fired upon his master's ship, usurping the mantle of Dark Lord.
Far more ruthless than Revan ever was but distinctly less cunning and strong in the Force, Malak started a whole new wave of terror in the galaxy, and chaos began reigning supreme. Ulic began experiencing strange dreams, worrying Nalan and Siri, who made the decision between them to bring Ulic back to Nar Shaddaa. However, soon thereafter an accident occurred, and he was hurled through what he later learned was a 'wormhole'. He has since tried very hard to adjust to the new technologies and political happenings, but fears he may be losing it completely. He mourns the loss of his companions, having found his peace of mind depended on them, which is why he has come to slowly loathe such a thing.

Role-play sample:
(Does is have to be Star Wars? This is an old sample, but I haven't the time to type out a new one, so I apologize for any and all mistakes.)
It was cramped and small, but he had gotten used to it over the years; cramming his small frame behind packed goods containing both solidified and liquefied supplies was easy enough. However, holding himself there was another matter: trying to ignore his body's protests as his limbs were bent at an awkward angle was an unpleasant experience, but the alternative was something he wasn't willing to risk. Not yet.
When they were close to land... close enough to swim... he could jump out and overboard before the pirates found him.
He was careful not to take noticeable amounts of food, either; the pirates would attribute small food disappearances to the rats, but anything larger than that and he knew they'd do a thorough search. And then what would happen? They'd probably kill him, or lock him in the bridge, or put him to work as something akin to a slave. That was the punishment for stowaways.
Sighing, he leaned his head against a barrel, bringing one leg up to his chest and extending the other in front of him. Wall Staring had become a constant thing for him, as well as Count The Number Of Knots In The Wood.
That had gotten old fast.
Still, it was good to not be curled up behind some large thing or under a tarp, and he was practically purring with the temporary luxury of stretching. Casting wide, blue-grey eyes around the hold again, Marceau Lovell wondered how long it would take before they arrived at a port; before he would hear the long-awaited "Land!" calling from the Crow's Nest way above.
At least he knew the name of that thing.
The only part of the ship he had seen in-depth was the above deck, as well as the Crow's Nest itself, where he had momentarily hidden before making his way--carefully--down the rigging and dropping rather loudly and ungracefully onto the wooden workings of the ship.
Finding the hold had taken him longer than he had wanted, and the constant paranoia of running into someone made him take even longer than usual to locate the vast, supplies-packed area. Of course, he left the hold every night for a much-needed walk, but knowing there were pirates aboard limited his excavations and explorations to the hold itself, and the mesh hall or kitchen, where he went when he couldn't get dried food out of the barrels without anyone noticing after they were opened.
He felt like a caged bird, and he didn't like it one bit. But all he could do was wait, and wait, and wait.
It seemed like he was always waiting. It was a good thing he had developed the patience for it.
Closing his eyes, Marcy exhaled loudly, knowing that the darkened sky would have lulled many a pirate and sailor to sleep now. He counted on it, actually, but he had survived too long on luck. What would the English do if they found him here? Their language was strange to him--their customs alien. And with the French being a long-time enemy of England itself, could he expect mercy? And so it was with a rapidly-beating heart, within the darkness of the hold, that his fears came out.
His luck would run out sometime, he knew, and then it would only be a matter of time before someone discovered him here.
